Abstract

Mankind has constantly been threatened by epidemics and pandemics - such as smallpox, typhus, bubonic plague, cholera, syphilis, AIDS, influenza A H1N1 - which in some cases have caused the death of entire populations and political and social changes, and have even come to change the course of history. So, for example, recalls how the bubonic plague killed millions of people in the sixth century the Byzantine Empire, depopulated many regions of Europe, struck again in the sixteenth century and spread through Asia, and the third epidemic affected the late nineteenth century. However, these diseases cause a response from the states and the advancement of medicine, which seeks to banish them or turn them off. In response to these events is that the World Health Organization has recently set up the alert system and Epidemic and Pandemic Response towards health security in the world.
