We begin this Editorial recalling some statistics of 1907, ie 100 years ago. Back then, life expectancy was 47 years; more than 95% of births occurred at 'home'; 90% of doctors ... was not going to college !, but 'medical schools', many of them condemned by the press and the government as 'substandard'. The five leading causes of death were: 1) pneumonia and influenza; 2) tuberculosis; 3) diarrhea; 4) heart disease; 5) stroke.Downloads
