Premature mortality in the Maternity of Lima

A consecutive series of 80 autopsies of neonatimuertos, whose weights range between 1,000 and 2,500 grams is presented. Most patients died in the early neonatal period and the most frequent cause of death was infection. Considering the importance of early attention as a problem of medical emergency and noted the emphasis is on the high incidenciade mortality from preventable conditions.Downloads
