Abstract

I want to place on record my appreciation to the organizers of this great event, which modest local expression has become thanks to the generous presence of such illustrious and enlightened exponents of this branch of the American Medical Science, in a wonderful and International fair promissory . It is therefore by this undeserved honor of habérseme chosen as spokesman for the Peruvian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology to bring to you. the results of the discrete work done in the Maternity of Lima, as far as ruptures Uterine refers to the period comprised between 1950 to 58 inclusive, I want to say very top of my gratitude, my excitement and the grave responsibility that have incurred to accept. The Company to designate as the first item of Obstetrics "uterine ruptures" wanted to highlight the importance of this well-known and dreaded complication; of which they have occupied the main exponents of this specialty, at all times and in all latitudes renewing concepts, adapting and adopting new techniques aimed both forecasting the accident and its best treatment, and actually results explanation of these techniques and therapeutic developments have been highly beneficial as far as positive results and final terms, such as: lower maternal and fetal mortality. However despite these advances the number of accidents while they have decreased in many countries, there continue to be in proportion negligible in many others, and maternal mortality still represents a significant figure, multiplied much, when speaking of stillbirth.
