Current status of family planning activities in Mexico

The purpose of this presentation is to present to you a summary of the Current Status of Family Planning activities in Mexico. We will start with some background. Until 1972, the policy of the Mexican government in population was strictly pro-natalist. The General Population Law 1947 favored the growth of the population. In this context, efforts to provide family planning services to the population was confined to the private sphere. Thus, the Pro-Maternal Health Association began operating in 1959 and the Foundation for Studies (FEPAC) began its work in 1965.Downloads
