Abstract

2426 gynecological surgical procedures performed between 1980 - August 1990 in Hipolito Unanue Hospital, eight cases correspond to pelvic hydatid disease with histopathological study demonstrated that make a prevalence of 0.33%; the average age being 33 years; from endemic areas of this disease in 87.5% of cases. Paratubaria location with 37.5%, 25% ovarian, Douglas pouch of 25%, 25% and vesicouterine retroperitoneal 12.5%. We consider important, consider the parasitic etiology of pelvic cystic tumors, given the epidemiology of our environment; preserving the integrity of the cystic tumor during its removal and prevent seeding or secondary implantation; set plan appropriate and timely diagnosis and treatment in patients coming from endemic areas Echinococcosis.
