Contribution to the study of anorectal fistulas

Abstract

A study of 167 patients with anorectal fistula simple and complex from the Workers' Hospital of Lima, for the period 1952-1956 is made. Anorectal fistulas are the 15.39% of all anorectal conditions and continue in numerical importance to hemorrhoids that come first. Independent of age, has found them more often between 25 and 58 years of age, 98.8% of patients were male. Virtually all are mestizos, there are only three black patients.
